Funds from the Students First capital campaignb that took place mostly under her tenure will be used to create thePatricia A. Sullivanb Distinguished Professorship inthe Sciences. Includin g anticipated matching grants, the endowment for that professorshi p shouldbe $1 million, accordingy to a university That endowment will generate funds to add a nationally knowm scholar to the UNCG faculty, says Vice Chancellot for University Advancement Patriciq Stewart. Sullivan is a biologist by training, and the facult y member will be in either that fielrd orin chemistry, geography or physics.
“This is wonderfull recognition ofPat Sullivan’s service and dedication to this university” over her nearlyh 14 years as chancellor, Stewart “It is also a wonderful gift to the One of the (Students campaign’s priorities has been the creatiojn of endowed professorships so that our studentx can learn from the brightesy faculty.” Sullivan was chancellor from 1995 until her retirement last summer. The Studentsz First campaign has raised morethan $111 million for the school, surpassing its $100 million The campaign officially ends this month.
